I’ve just made version 1.3.3 of Dynamic Widgets available for download. In this new release the following has been added:

  • Added an internal filter when checking for widget options to make the plugin faster. (1.3.2)
  • Added Custom Post Types support for WordPress 3.0.
  • Added WPML support for static pages, category pages, category in single posts and custom post types.
  • Bugfix for not resetting checked count when enabling individual posts with authors and/or category set.

UPDATE: As a follow up on the comment from Michael I have released version 1.3.4 with a fix for the minor flaw.

Recently WordPress 3.0 has been released. I’ve ran a quick test with the latest version of Dynmaic Widgets (1.3) and did not find any problem. So it seems this new WordPress release does not affect the working of Dynamic Widgets.

If you find any problems with Dynamic Widgets 1.3 in combination with WordPress 3.0, please let me know.

A new major version of the Dynamic Widgets plugin has just been released: Version 1.3 is now available for download. Compared to the previous official release the following has been added and fixed:

  • Added support for dates functionality: You can now show a widget starting on a specific date, stop showing it on a specific date or show only during a specific date range.
  • Bugfix for user role detection when using Simple:Press Forum plugin.
  • Bugfix for nasty PHP warning “Cannot use a scalar value as an array”.

Because of the addition of the dates functionality the database needs to be upgraded. You’re advised to make a backup of your WordPress database first. When upgrading, be sure -like always- you do a proper deactiavtion and reactivation of the plugin. Otherwise the upgrade process will not be triggered.

Until now I’ve received two times a notification from users about a PHP error appearing in the widgets admin “Cannot use a scalar value as an array”. After doing some Googling and analyzing my own code I think I have found the problem. A possible bugfix  for this is applied to the development version 1.2.4.

UPDATE May 15, 2010: It seems the bug is finally fixed in the development version 1.2.6

After two development versions (1.2.1 and 1.2.2) and now with the addition of the default widget display setting option for the Search Page, it’s time to make version 1.2.3 an official release. So here it is. Compared to the previous official release version 1.2 the following has been changed:

  • Added functionality when front page display is set to static page. (1.2.1 and 1.2.2)
  • Added default widget display setting option for Search Page.
