Yesterday, WordPress 3.5 was released. Due to a small change made in the core WordPress system, Dynamic Widgets might give you a notification “Missing argument 2 for wpdb::prepare()”.
This is a known problem and has already been fixed in the latest development version.
So, when you upgrade to WordPress 3.5 and you receive this notification. You can install this version of Dynamic Widgets for the time being. An official release will follow soon.
Finally! A new version of Dynamic Widgets. Do I have an excuse that it took so long? No, not really. Time just flies when you’re having fun. Anyway, it’s here. This version has the following added and fixed.
- Added URL support.
- Added Day of the week support.
- Added Weeknumber support.
- Added Custom Taxonomies support for Posts.
- Added Chech language files (locale: cs_CZ) – Dekuji Pavel!
- Added Brazil Portuguese language files (locale: pt_BR) – Obrigado Renato!
- Bugfix for Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$post_name.
- Bugfix for Missing options (Archive, Error, Search); Stopped using the accordion.
- Bugfix for Notice: Undefined index: single_author_act in dynwid_admin_save.php on line 138.
- Bugfix for not showing the green checkmark when an option is set for single posts.
Two issues remain at this moment with Single Post Rules.
It appears that some widgets are not hidden by DW when certain version(s) of PHP is being used. Unfortunately I have not found out to which version(s) of PHP this problem occurs. I have been able to reproduce the problem on an Ubuntu 10.04 server with PHP 5.3.2. It’s also possible it has to do with a combination of the used WordPress version.
Anyway, I’m working on the issue. It looks like I have a fix available for this problem in development version 1.5.2.6.
Much sooner then anticipated I have released Dynamic Widgets version 1.5.2. Due to a possible XSS security vulnerability found yesterday by the WordPress team. To protect your WordPress installation this vulnerability has been closed in this version. As a bonus two other bugs have been fixed.
It’s highly recommended to update asap.
Due to an issue found in Dynamic Widgets, the plugin has been taken down by WordPress.org. I’m in contact with WordPress to resolve the issue. Hopefully everything is back online soon.
