Twitter has announced it will stop using version 1.0 of the Twitter API on May 7, 2013. This API is used by Tweet Lovers. I have decided not to update Tweet Lovers anymore. This means Tweet Lovers will not work anymore from May 7, 2013.
For the ones who are using this small plugin, I apologize. Tweet Lovers has never made it to such a success as my other plugin Dynamic Widgets is.
I’m happy to announce the next version of Tweet Lovers is available. In this version I have brought the widget construction up to date. Fixing actually a bug that you were not able to use Dynamic Widgets with the widgets created by Tweet Lovers. Also I have added a check to see if data is coming back from Twitter. It happens sometimes, especially when you’re using shared hosting, Twitter does not return data. Before this version, you could end up with an empty widget. That is being prevented now.
After a bit more than 10 months, a new version of Tweet Lovers is there. The only viewable change is the addition of the number of followers option to the followers widget. Under the hood the plugin has been brought up to date to remain compatibility with WordPress.
The update will soon be announced on your WordPress Dashboard or you can download it right away.
I’ve just released a small update for Tweet Lovers. In this release a Follow Me button option in the followers widget has been added and an incompatible use of XHTML in the widgets fixed. You can download the new version right away or wait until WordPress picks it up.
I’ve just released the first stable version of Tweet Lovers. My (small) testpanel didn’t hit into crashes, strange bugs, etc. anymore.
