Troubles along the way

The last month I’ve been experiencing some troubles of different sources along the way.

Reason for not replying to comments was most of all I didn’t receive notifications anymore. I’ve decided to move to another hosting company later this year. As a start, my mail server has already been moved. Apparently my current hosting company where this website is still hosted doesn’t like that and refuses to follow the standard specifications by not sending mail from this website to my mail server. Result is the mail vanishes in cyberspace. For the time being I’ll take more attention to comments, bugreports, etc. without checking my mail. Soon I’ll be moving this website also to the new hosting company. Once again, apologies to all the people waiting for an answer.

Last but not least is that my ISP currently refuses to put me back online. I’ve lost my internet connection last Thursday evening and until now this problem has not been fixed. Yes, I did pay my monthly subscription fee in case you wonder. 😉 There seem to be a cable issue which is apparently very hard to fix. How difficult can that be? There is no estimate when this issue will be fixed. The ISP thinks it will be fixed before next Friday. When you live in the Netherlands, in the Caiway/Rekam service area, beware of this kind of unacceptable shitty things. When it works, it works pretty well. When it doesn’t, you’re in big trouble.

Dynamic Widgets 1.5.2

Much sooner then anticipated I have released Dynamic Widgets version 1.5.2. Due to  a possible XSS security vulnerability found yesterday by the WordPress team. To protect your WordPress installation this vulnerability has been closed in this version. As a bonus two other bugs have been fixed.

It’s highly recommended to update asap.

Dynamic Widgets taken offline

Due to an issue found in Dynamic Widgets, the plugin has been taken down by WordPress.org. I’m in contact with WordPress to resolve the issue. Hopefully everything is back online soon.

Dynamic Widgets 1.5.1

This is to announce I have the pleasure to tell you I’ve just released version 1.5.1 of my WordPress plugin Dynamic Widgets. This version has the following 2 features added, 7 bugs fixed and a major update the way of generating the static pages list. This update makes it much faster and more reliable. Below the list:

  • Added Custom Taxonomies support for Pages
  • Added Portuguese language files (locale: pt_PT) – Obrigado Pedro!
  • Bugfix for Illegal offset type in isset or empty in /wp-includes/taxonomy.php on line 211.
  • Bugfix for Options disappear when adding a widget to a sidebar.
  • Bugfix for Taxonomy childs are displayed when Taxonomy is not hierarchical.
  • Bugfix for deprecated call-time pass-by-reference in custompost_module.php on line 226.

Tweet lovers 1.0.3

I’m happy to announce the next version of Tweet Lovers is available. In this version I have brought the widget construction up to date. Fixing actually a bug that you were not able to use Dynamic Widgets with the widgets created by Tweet Lovers. Also I have added a check to see if data is coming back from Twitter. It happens sometimes, especially when you’re using shared hosting, Twitter does not return data. Before this version, you could end up with an empty widget. That is being prevented now.
